Making plans for Romania?

I know only one lake, not so far away from. Bucharest, about 25 km. It s called Mihailesti - Cornetu, on Arges river. Some companies are still extracting gravel and sand. I don t know the pits but you can guess where some should be from. the abandoned equipment by the shore.

Yes I would like to come to Romania, but I must do more homework before I travel.
I am looking for the right lake, not a lake with many fishes...

What s your favourite rig? Do you use home made boilies of ready made?

my favorite rig is a Reverse combi, line aligner, with a long hair [3-4cm between hook and bait].

I like to make my own baits. Fresh bait is always better than shop boilies.
Making square Boilies is easier than round ones and the fish do not mind what shape it is

Any secret recipe for cold weather? This fall fishing hasn t been good at all, could have been the sudden change of the weather, the moon...

How did you get to that distance between hook and bait? I was tempted many times to increase that distance but in the end I stayed with the usual 1 cm. I don not use pop-ups in general.
I suppose you are using long shank hooks, what s your favourite brand?

try the long hair, it can be very good. I tried it in Holland recently to good effect.
Use a line aligner like normal, just with a long hair. Remember also..Reverse combi rig
[Mono and Braid OK?].

You need to give the hook room to move. The carp is holding the Boilie, not the hook.

Many thanks Since I have plenty of time this winter I will make couple of rigs with the distances you recommend. I will try these on some of the lakes I know so I can see if this makes any difference
