Greetings from. England...
Hello to ALL!
my name is Brian Johnston I an 40 years old and live in the south west of England.
I am a keen carp fisherman who has been fishing in Hungary since 1998. I am interested in contacting some English speaking Romanian carp anglers to exchange carp fishing information etc.
I look forward to having some good conversations on your great board.

Since you ve been in Hungary so many times maybe in the future you can make it to Sarulesti, or Raduta Lake as I noticed it s known by UK anglers. From various articles I understand UK anglers had a great time fishing at Sarulesti. Besides this is one of the few lakes where boiles really work in Romania as most of the carp anglers here still use traditional methods.

Hi Mercia?
I would very much like to fish at Sarulesti or Raduta lake, but it is expensive ![]()
I also hear that the fishing at Raduta is very bad as they had some big problems with a fish disease that killed lots of fish recently![]()
Any information you can give about this would be interesting...

re:Greetings from. England...
I heard the same rumours, that a lot of big carp died at Sarulesti ...
There are some parts of the lake where you can fish against a reasonable fee (under 8-9 pounds) but only beetwen 6 am to 6 pm. Slight chances to catch any carp though...unless you can cast couple of hundred meters
More and more carp anglers go now to Tancabesti, much smaller lake, but with lots of big carps. The fee/day is also under 10 pounds. Fishmeals boiles work here very well.

Hi Brian, I ve been away for couple of days.
Tancabesti (also known as Two lakes - Two brothers, guess why!) is about 30 hectares and in general the water is about 2,5m deep.
For the last two years the carp was fished only "catch&release" not so common in Romanian lakes. Also good lakes are Peris, Hobaia, and a new good one, I heard, will open soon, Darvari.
Some carp anglers say that for the moment Tancabesti has the largest carp you can catch in the region. Carps of over 20 kg are pretty common here.

Hi Mircea,
the lake sounds OK, although shallower than I prefer. I am sure there are some great fish in there though.
I have talked to a few Romanian fishermen before who say that the carp fishing in Romania is centered around the Bucarest area. What is known of the big resevoirs and other large lakes that are in more remote areas...does anyone bother to fish in them?
Mircea could you also please tell me if there are any gravel pits that you know of. I really like these types of water when looking for big carp, deep gravel pits always produce good fish for some reason. Any information you can give me would be of great interest![]()
